The Alocasia amazonica, also known as the Bambino, is a stunning indoor plant because its foliage has narrow, arrowhead-shaped, green leaves with pronounced white veins with burgundy backsides. The leaves appear almost black and can reach 18 inches in length. It can grow into a relatively large plant, especially when fertilized monthly in the spring and summer months. Keep away from children and pets.
Alocasia's are harder to care for because of their need for warmer temperatures and higher humidity. We recommend a humidifier, misting it twice a week, and/or adding a saucer underneath filled with rock. In the Fall when it goes dormant, don't overwater it! This is a common mistake that can kill off the plant. Don't worry, they are worth the extra love!
